North Coast 500
Something I have always wanted to see more of the NORTH, the “romantic “ Scottish Highlands. Don’t get me wrong I am a seasoned veteran of the North of Scotland, but it is huge and there is always a new adventure to be had. Recently I, my partner and two good friends packed the car to the gunnel’s and set off on the new North Coast 500 route, billed as Scotland’s answer to Route 66.
Buy a map for your North Coast 500 adventure!
First, off I highly recommend the North Coast 500 as a holiday, the route was clear but don’t go thinking you will be able to rely on your trusty Sat Nav or Google maps!! NOPE. Buy a map, yes a physical paper MAP.
The Route
The traditional north Coast 500 route takes in Inverness to Inverness and covers some truly spectacular views, some of which I have covered in my photographs. Caves to Dolphins, mountains and lochs galore and plenty of open spaces!! Camping is everywhere, every site we stayed at had great facilities, hot showers, food and beer 🙂
So load up the car and check out the mighty North beyond the wall!
